Educating restaurant staff one employee at a time. "Just one?" "No. I am not "just" anything. I would like a table for one." That out of the way, first visit to Bubba's BBQ. Late lunch, ordered cheeseburger, fries, a side of their western beans, and a lemonade. Will probably return to try the BBQ items. After consulting with the server, upon her recommendation, I asked for medium-well burger. Wanted tender and juicy, not underdone. What I got was over cooked, dry, tough, barely edible. If I wanted a bad burger, I would have gone to In and Out just down the freeway. Got the regular fries. They were as she described and not a skimpy portion, quite good. Side of beans was OK. Needed WAY more seasoning (and not just salt). Lemonade was fine, way over priced, as usual. Service was attentive. I was one of maybe three tables mid-afternoon. Music playing was dance club loud, yuk. I was treated to a front row seat to hear the ego-maniacal cook shrieking at everyone. Location must be good for these guys. Right across from the Fair grounds. Parking in rear and very limited. Prices mid-range to high.

Beautiful building and layout but the staff was terrible. As we walked in a male floor member looked at us, looked away and proceeded to gossip with two other waitresses. We had to call someone over to be seated. This behavior continued as we were attended to not once, while witnessing staff take personal calls on the floor. Food was slightly above average but combined with the service would not recommend.

The pulled pork sandwhich was good. The Mac and cheese was just okay at first bite but I got more into it the more I ate. The baked beans... were not good. Too expensive for what it is. Decor inside is nice.

Eh, I didn't care much for this place. I had the pork belly salad and my wife had the baby back ribs with side of baked potato and Texas toast. The decor was fine, there's plenty of TVs to watch sports and the front has a nice outdoor area to eat and listen to live music. Despite the nice surroundings and good service, the food wasn't on par. My salad was drenched in dressing. A lighter serving would have been great or maybe served on the side. The pork belly on the salad was dry. Maybe because it was sliced it dried up? Possibly serving it cubed would help like burnt ends. My wife's baby back ribs were super chewy and even had a hard time cutting them with her knife. Our Uber driver recommended this place and we were very disappointed. Expect after the great pasta dinner from the night before.
